Low Back/Sacro-Iliac Joint Dysfunction
Symptoms include:
- Pain in low back
- Pain in upper buttocks
- Pain in the pubic bone
- Pain in the groin
The internal and external muscles attaching to the pelvis can cause low back and Sacro-Iliac Joint pain. Commonly myofacial trigger points are the Psoas, Iliacus, Quadratus Lumborum, Piriformis, Obturator Internus, Levator Ani, and Gluteals.
Your physical therapist will normalize the tight muscles and tissue with manual therapy techniques. A home exercise program will be prescribed to you to facilitate recovery and maintain the gains made. Resolution of the musculoskeletal dysfunction will result in the elimination of your symptoms.
