Genital Numbness,
Pain and/or Burning

Symptoms include:

The genitals lie in close proximity to the pelvic floor muscles and are innervated by the Pudendal Nerve. Pelvic floor muscle tightness or myofascial trigger points or Pudendal Nerve irritation can lead to genital pain or hypersensitivity. In addition, connective tissue restrictions in the tissue surrounding the genitals can cause ischemia and secondary hypersensitivity.

Your physical therapist will normalize the tight muscles, tissue and mobility of the Pudendal Nerve with manual therapy techniques. A home exercise program will be prescribed to you to facilitate recovery and maintain the gains made. Resolution of the musculoskeletal dysfunction will result in the elimination of your symptoms.
