Fibromyalgia
Symptoms include:
- Generalized muscle and/or joint pain
- Fatigue/malaise
- Pelvic pain
- Migraines
- Depression and/or anxiety
- ‘Brain fog’
- Decreased tolerance for exercise
Although Fibromyalgia is not well understood, most clinicians agree that the presence of myofascial trigger poitns largely contribute to the symptoms. In addition, myofascial trigger points cause connective tissue restrictions causing local and referred pain.
Your physical therapist will normalize the tight muscles and tissue and eliminate myofascial trigger poitns with manual therapy techniques. A home exercise program will be prescribed to you to facilitate recovery and maintain the gains made. Resolution of the musculoskeletal dysfunction will result in the elimination of your symptoms.

Specific medical advice and/or answers to your personal health questions will require a full examination by one of our physical therapists.
