Trans-ischio-rectal (TIR)
Pudendal Nerve Decompression
This procedure is done through an incision lateral to the rectum in men and in the vaginal wall in women. Unlike the Trans-gluteal approach, the TIR does not move or transpose the nerve. Specific post-op rehabilitation for the TIR approach includes scar mobilization at the incision site.
Compare to the Trans-gluteal Decompression or the Trans-perineal Decompression.
