ABOUT US
In August of 2006 Stephanie A. Prendergast, MPT and Elizabeth H. Rummer, MSPT formed the Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation Center. Their vision is to work with a multidisciplinary team to treat men and women suffering from pelvic pain and to optimize pelvic health for pre- and postpartum women. Within their network of urologists, gynecologists, pain management physicians, physiatrists, psychologists and other physical therapists patients will receive a comprehensive and holistic treatment plan. This team approach successfully eliminates pelvic pain and restores physical and emotional health.
The physical therapist's at the Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation Center are extremely dedicated to the profession and their patients. They pledge to continue to educate the community and increase public and professional awareness of pelvic pain and dysfunction. They are committed to increase their knowledge and physical therapy skills in order to offer the highest quality of care to their patients.

Stephanie A. Prendergast, MPT grew up in South Jersey and received her her Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers Univeristy in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She received her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She moved to San Francisco in the year 2000. She currently lives with her dog Abbie, enjoys bikram yoga, scuba diving, live music, good books, traveling, cooking, eating, wine bars and desserts. She is extremely committed to progressing the quality of care available to persons suffering from pelvic pain syndromes. She does this through patient care, extensive writing, and local and international teaching. She is recognized as a thought leader in the field of pelvic pain and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Pelvic Pain Society and the Society for Pudendal Neuralgia. |

Elizabeth H. Rummer, MSPT received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology from the University of Miami and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami Medical School. Elizabeth is very involved in clinical research, technical writing, and teaching national and international lectures and continuing education courses. It is through these achievements and activities that Elizabeth strives to improve the treatment for those suffering from pelvic pain syndromes as well as improve community and medical professional awareness of pelvic pain and dysfunction. Elizabeth enjoys traveling, reading, and wine, preferably all at once! Elizabeth and her husband, Russell, are proud parents of two wonderful dogs, Maverick and Zeke. |

Elizabeth M. McBride, MSPT was raised in east Texas and received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman's University School of Physical Therapy. After many conversations with her long time friend, an OB/GYN, regarding how physical therapy could help patients with urinary, bowel and sexual dysfunction she decided she had found her niche and joined the Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation Center in San Francisco. The great bay area weather has drawn her to cycling and running in Golden Gate Park. Yoga has also found its way into her personal life and her work as a physical therapist. She is steadfast in her quest to educate the general public about the delicate topic of pelvic floor dysfunction in order for both men and women to understand that they can begin to live, play and work without embarrassment or pain. |

Jill Kaufman, office manager, received her bachelors degree from the University of Oregon, with a major in psychology. She is an excellent addition to our team, utilizing her communication skills to help make our patients feel at ease with any questions or concerns they have regarding their treatment and appropriate scheduling based on their condition. |
